Introducing the Kindling Cracker™ Wood Splitter

Fandango Fire Tools® is the European distributor for the Kindling Cracker™ which is an innovative, patented, and award-winning wood splitter designed to offer a safe and easy way to chop wood.

Ayla Hutchinson from New Zealand was only 13 years old when she designed the Kindling Cracker™ wood splitter as part of a school science project. She was inspired to find an alternative way of splitting wood when her mother injured her hand whilst chopping firewood with an axe. Ayla’s determination to find a safer, easier, and smarter way of chopping wood is both captivating and inspirational.

The Kindling Cracker™ is manufactured in an Australian foundry from a special blend of recycled, high-quality cast iron. When cared for and used correctly, the Kindling Cracker™ will last for generations. This intuitive design prevents your hands from ever coming into close contact with the blade. Logs are placed within the safety ring onto the splitting wedge before being struck with either a hammer or another piece of wood.

Available in two sizes, Original or King, the Kindling Cracker™ can be used to split firewood for a range of uses including open fires, pizza ovens, fire pits, saunas, barbeques, smokers, and wood burning stoves.
